2002 Louis Latour Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (7/21/2009)
Darker golden in color, very shy nose of pear, honey, lemon wax. Showing a little premox. In the mouth, creamy pear/apricot/baked apple fruit…slight sherry, but just a touch…nice lemon mineral cut, honey butter, toasted marshmallow, floral spice. If this was domestic, it would be on life support…the minerals and acidity really keep it up, and makes no mistake it’s from Burgundy. Tasty, but just expected a little more from a Genevrières from '02. I’ve had the '02 Village wine…and it was better. No signs of premox in it. This wine, I’m afraid, might be stricken? I’ve got 2 more bottles to check out…we’ll see. (89 pts.)
