TN: 2002 Jadot Amoureuses

  • 2002 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (2/6/2012)
Opened at Trullo to celebrate Emma’s promotion. Double decanted an hour earlier. Dark red / purple. Beautiful nose of red and black berries, cherry, earth, and spice. Light/Medium bodied but with wonderful intensity. Noticeable tannins, but really very fine. Nice acidity, complex, great balance, with a long finish. We enjoy young burgs and this was a terrific example; I suspect it will improve for years as it develops. Wish I had more. A.

Thanks for the note, Brady. Sitting on three bots, and you are making me thirsty!

Sounds really delicous. Im a big fan of young Chambolle (not the exclusion of the aged stuff, I just thing it drinks well young in general)

I think Jadot’s Amoureuses is a bit on the extracted side, at least the few vintages I have tried. Not sure why that would be - it isn’t a negoc wine, and I normally like Jadot’s domaine style. YMMV.
