TN: 2002 Husic Cab Sauv

From Stag’s Leap district fruit, this one doesn’t seem to get the love other Celia M projects get and …

I understand why.

Overdone. Overly ripe, pruney fruit. A load of toasty oak on the nose. Pretty disjointed and one-dimensional. The oak and alcohol just kept beating me over the head. Not much, if anything, to recommend about it. As time went by, nothing improved. I dropped from the list early and, based on this bottle, no regrets about that.

i had the 04 a few months ago in Fla and thought it showed really nicely in a line-up that included the 04 Merus.

I’m guessing they show better young and that age is only detrimental.

Stevw, your note sounds like the 05 Keever.
Ouch.

I had this wine at release. I have never bothered to seek a Husic since. Not my taste.
