TN: 2002 Harris Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon VSR Very Special Reserve Treva's Vineyard

  • 2002 Harris Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon VSR Very Special Reserve Treva’s Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/19/2012)
Dark with red crimson edges. Nose is a pure cassis driven & black fruit profile. Palate has some tart blackcherry, kirsch and black raspberries. This is ceratinly atypical of most Harris wines I have had in being a little clumsy and somewhat disjointed. Balance seems awkward too. Tannins are elongated and acidity a notch above where I would like to have it. Finish admirable and the fruits remain with you for long time. I believe this is a Mark Herold wine. I could be wrong (have been so once or twice in my life). I remain nonplussed… (88 pts.)
