– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 2 days –
NOSE: I really liked the bouquet of this wine; lots of tobacco; some sweet raspberry; olive; hint of cherries; the slightest hint of barnyard; overall, more sweet and fruity than earthy.
BODY: sediment present; garnet color of moderate depth – very little bit of bricking at edges; medium bodied.
TASTE: tobacco, fruity leather, and a strong chocolate note; baked cherries; somewhat austere – didn’t improve in this regard on Day 2; a wee bit alcoholic; herbaceous mid-palate – mint; medium length finish. Good, but not memorable. Purchased on sale for $20, so I’m not horribly disappointed, but still would not buy again at that price.
