A little vanilla on the nose. Fine, lingering tannins. Long, long finish. But everything else takes a back seat to some great dark cherry fruit - like cherry pie filling. Fabulous fruit. I don’t think that the wine has completely come together yet. I have to believe it would benefit from a few more years in the bottle and would easily carry another seven or eight. This is one of the under-appreciated wineries in Oregon. Making really nice juice since at least 96 (I still have one more bottle of 96 Roosevelt).
Not in the least bit surprised you’re a fan Chris. Very nice people making rich, ripe, concentrated and sometimes brooding Pinots. Under-appreciated? I’d heard they don’t have too much trouble selling through with most of their production (red and whites) at affordable price points. Plenty of decent ratings/reviews over the past decade or so.

Glad to hear they are getting some love. I really clued into them with the 96’s and at that point I think the name was more associated with value-PN. But that’s been a few years, I suppose!
I had actually thought it was a 2006 until I half-finished, and nothing in the bottle suggested it was older. The Roosevelt usually has more backbone to it, and was pleased that this was holding together so well, for something so fruity.
