2002 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Épenots - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru (1/5/2014)
Starting to show a hint of sous bois. The 79 version was one of the first wow wines twenty years ago. Ripe sweet red and black fruits, sweet tea and earth. Excellent concentration, sweet dense palate impression, earth and still noticeable tannins. I believe this will show significantly better in ten years when the flavor profile becomes mostly tertiary. Quite big and earthy wine with a promising future. (93 pts.) -
2002 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Épenots - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru (8/4/2013)
Nicely developing but not quite ready, excellent concentration, nice expression of pommard, lots of mineral and earth with mostly black fruits. It still needs another three to five years of cellaring to gain a bit more sweet caramel and sous bois. (93 pts.) -

2010 Bouchard wine dinner organized by Panos (Lavandou, Washington DC): As expected, still need time, rustic but showing a good amount of fruit. (91 pts.)
