TN: 2002 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles

  • 2002 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny (5/10/2016)
Medium ruby color. Nose of pine forest, menthol, dark fruit, violets, stone. Lots of presence on the palate, exhibiting deep dark black raspberry and dark plum fruit accompanied by superb grip and depth. Gravitas relieved by a certain lushness that is Chambolle. Freshening acidity and still-stern tannins leading to a strong wave-like finish of black cherry, raspberry, raspy earth, and stone. Knocks it out of the park for a village level wine, and every bit as good as many premiers I have sampled recently. Good stuff. (91 pts.)

a solid producer–the Beze rocks, too.

Alan

If this is what the village Chambolle tastes like, the Beze must be unreal.

Very good producer Doug. Thanks for the note.

Thanks Jeremy. Have some 05 la Dominode and 06 Clos St Jacques which I have not disturbed yet. Looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Doug
