2002 Cooper Mountain Vineyards Pinot Noir Five Elements Organic - USA, Oregon, Yamhill County (7/12/2009)
Surprisingly youthful. Deep purple in the glass, with a transparent rim. Nose of dark fruits and soil, noticeably (but indefinably) different than OR pinots from Dundee Hills or Ribbon Ridge. Less funk, more earth, maybe? On the palate, nice silky attack, with notable tannins and pretty good balance. A bit simple, but not unpleasant for it. Very honest expression of OR pinot, good QPR.
