2002 Château Cos d’Estournel - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe (7/3/2009)
I actually managed to hang on to this bottle for nearly 3 years since drinking the first of two that I had purchased and the extra time made quite a difference. Decanted for about an hour prior to drinking. Shows a nice note of cigar box, old leather, red currants and just a touch of spice. Quite a complex and mouth-coating palate experience with dark fruits and lots of grip from firm tannins which are starting to integrate nicely. No need to rush this one but if you must, give it a quick decant for an hour or two and you’ll surely enjoy it. (92 pts.)
