    These have been popping up from time to time over the last few years - various spats and Ausleses from 01 to 02 and at a good prices - I saw this at Gran Vin and glad I pulled the trigger. While I don't think this would have been confused with a top Mosel Blue Chip ala Prum, this was nonetheless delightful. Fresh, clean and on point with focused acidity, this has cruised to its 20th birthday standing up. Plenty of expressive orchid fruit that goes wonderfully with homemade hot and sour soup and short cut version of PDX's Legendary Pok Pok fish wings. (91 points)

Berres had a significant back stock of those older vintages. Our source for these dried up a while back but I have had numerous bottles of them. The 01 Treppchen Auslese is superb ($30). Many bottles of the 03 Wurzgarten Spät also crazy good for $20.
