TN - 2002 Bouchard Pere et Fils Corton Charlemagne

93 points: Opened and decanted 2 hours in advance. Slightly closed on the nose, reticent apple, seashell, lemon rind, rain water. Palate is mostly minerals and citrus rind. Great acid, serious minerality. Tastes like rain water. Palate gains power in the middle, finish is quite long, comprised of minerals, orange peel, hazelnuts and rain water. Fantastic wine, but seems like it is just a touch closed and shy. After 3 hours in the decanter it shows much the same as an hour ago. Because of premox issues with 02 Bouchards, it’s hard to recommend holding these, but it seems like there is so much more to come.

Bouchard has made gigantic strides in their white wine program over the last decade, glad to hear you had a nice bottle. I really like the Bouchard CC’s

I love them too; give this baby just a few more years–it will come out singing. Have this wine with some lobster and you know you’re in heaven.
