TN: 2002 Audelssa Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Mountain Terraces

Been a very long time since I’ve had one of these and frankly didn’t realize I had not one, but two left. I remember tasting this wine with Erich and Gloria way back in 04 I think (along with a barrel sample of his Pinot Noir but I digress) and remember it being richly fruit, plush Cabernet. It’s definitely shed some of that “baby fat” and was starting to really show some nice secondary characteristics - nice cassis fruit, a little tobacco and olive with a little wood spice and cocoa. Nice medium weight on the palate, with fine ripe tannins and medium length finish. Very nicely done.

Paired with a flank steak with arugula and roasted meyer lemon. (92 pts.)

Hi Tony - I have one of these left as well. Do you think it is at peak drinking or can it hold for a few more years?

Thanks.

Todd it may be at peak but it will definitely hold there for a few more years. I’d probably drink in the next 2-4 yrs depending.
