2001 Reignac- France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur (07.05.2016)
Deep, dark red with no bricking. Nose of fruit and alc. Very full in the mouth, but the somewhat coarse tannins overpower the fruit.
I’ve found Jeffrey Davies wines usually age better than one would expect.
Not sure who brings them in now, but back then they were in his lineup.
Also read that they do well in blind panels (haven’t inserted one myself in an event, not having bought them post 2000) but perhaps some of the annoyance at Reignac is the idea that a Bordeaux AC level wine is priced like a table stakes St Emilion.
