2001 Poderi Colla Barolo Dardi Le Rose Bussia - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (12/28/2011)
Ruby core with some bricking around the edge. We opened this, poured out a couple of small glasses intending to drink the next night. This was shut down tight as a drum, so easy choice to seal and revisit. The following day we checked in to find that it had not moved at all, so I began to think maybe something was off, so I dumped into a decanter and stored overnight at cellar temp. This finally showed on the third day with some shy florals on the nose and just a hint of red fruit. The palate showed a heavy balsamic note along with some plummy fruit and some tar. It still never really showed too much. This seems interesting, but is clearly not ready to drink right now.
