TN: 2001 Neal Family Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley)

Not a great TN but it will work, Great dark color, nose typical Cali cab. Really in its sweet spot right now, not sure if it will get better with age but it will hold for several more years. Poped and poured and it was ready to go (91 pts.)

Thanks for this. I have a couple left plus some SVD 01 Neal’s.

Me too. I’ve been holding both for quite a while!!!

Thanks for the note Sean. I was an early fan of this wine, and i have since fallen off the bandwagon.

I thought that upon release these wines were the bomb, in a good way. Man, I remember having the wine in a decanter for 2 days before it showed all it could.

As far as my experiance, the wine is falling apart fast. I still have 2 bottles left, will open up one soon.

I had one abot 6 months ago and it was right in it’s wheelhouse. Absolutely delicious. I’m right there with you in that I don’t think it’ll get better, but it’s still a damn good wine.

I agree with you on this. I remember having it open for a week and it was still great. I had a bottle last year and it had lost a lot of the punch and was not as good as on release. I am hoping it will come around…
