2001 Marco Di Giulio Cabernet Sauvignon Progeny - USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder (12/21/2011)
2 hour decant and needs it. Dark and viscous, the nose is all sweet black fruits tonight. Cassis, pomegranate and plums, this has a finely poised creamy texture, something reminiscent of a Dr. Crane Cabernet. Palate shows deep and pure blackness. Some cedar, leather, tea leaf and cardamom. A pretty wine with notes of spring flowers and violets. Great balance and nearly fully resolved, this is a very distinctive wine, maybe a wee ‘too’ sweet in profile. A long finish and your on track for a very decent evening. very decent. (91 pts.)
