TN; 2001 Marchesi de Frescobaldi Campone Brunello

My initial thought on pulling the cork and sniffing was that this wine was suffering from mild corking, while this mainly blew off in the decanter I was haunted by the memory of it.

classic middle weight Brunello profile in the glass, colour was dull rust ruby, needed 1 hour in the decanter for the middle palate to fill out, juicy small berries with a tobacco leaf overlay, still some fine grained tannic structure providing an energetic finish with the balanced acidity. Overall a nice “little” wine that went well with dinner
