2001 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (2/3/2010)
Dark opaque garnet. Rose, tar, dark dark fruits, and some vague menthol and coffee notes. Dark fruits, cherries, and a very nice acidity balanced with some big fruit flavors and finishing with a bit of bittter (in a good way) tannins. Really a very nice wine, which, I think, would reward a good deal of additional time before drinking again. That having been said, it was really quite lovely with osso bucco tonite.
