TN:2001 Justin Isosceles

While the board was being done over today I went to lunch with a buddy, we had rack of lamb and I brought a bottle of the 01 Isosceles.

Pop and poured, this wine was quite tight and needed about an hour to really develop into a very nice wine. I bought this for $24 on close out and it’s worth every penny. With air it’s drinking very nicely. 92 points.

I love that wine, and @ $24 you robbed someone for that wine. Wow great price, thanks for the note.

Agreed! $24 is a steal. Still a very big and tight wine but a very good wine none the less!

Yeah, $24 is a steal. I have a lone bottle left from the mailing list that was probably twice that on release. Always a favorite of mine.

Great wine and great price. I got these for $55ish and felt it weel worth that.

I’m not a huge fan of this bottle but it can be pretty good certain years. At $24 I’d certainly be a fan. Nice catch Steve.

Yea, I bought a 6 pack of this a couple of years ago. I should have bought the other 6 she had but bought a 6 pack of the 1999 Chappellet Pritchard Hill cab for $48 a bottle. She was giving wine away.

I’ve had Isoceles in the past, and enjoyed the '01 or '02 (can’t remember) but the '97 I had recently was NOT a favorite wine of mine, that’s for sure.

For $24, however, I would have jumped on it.

My point precisely. Rack of Lamb and a bottle of wine for lunch. That’s old school.

Who ARE you? You move to Appleton, WI and become some street-talkin’, KISS and Snoop Dogg-avatar postin’ fool?

Just keeping you on your toes

Hate to tell you this Phil, I can do this everyday…I am gainfully unemployed.

I opened the 99 on Sunday and it was pretty darn tight, but finally opened up. I had it with some Lasagna and it had the perfect acidity to go with. It is much more Bdx style that any of the previous or post vintages I have had.

Great nose of raspberry, pencil lead and even a bit minty. Like I said before the acidity was definitely present along with bright fruits and quite a bit of tannin.
