stupendous.
the Usseglio MA is smokin’ too
I thought 1998 & 2007 were the “lifetime” vintages. And then there is 2003. Talk about off the charts.
Get with the program Yaacov.
THIS . . . WINE . . . IS . . . THE . . . BOMB
Um…twitter is last room on left
I’d be careful sir, jay s miller hangs out here now. Talks about hedonistic gazetting at berns
We are all watching you. I see what you did on the auction thread
We all notice everything. Even if we keep quiet
Nice note
great note
Had this along with close to 20 other 2001 Chaty’s at a 2001 Retrospective early last year and while exceptionally fine, there were a number of others that showed more complexity and depth. Nothing like having them all lined up side-by-side for the ultimate compare n’ contrast. I’m a big Twit of Clos des P, so yes, it’s “a” bomb, but for my palate not “the” bomb.
i’ve had bigger ones too, rico. but not finer. in a different style, i think Donjon is up there as well. and certainly in its own category, Beaucastel might really be the wine of the vintage but i don’t consider Bo traditional CdP even though it’s probably my favorite.
burgundian – even though it’s a somewhat useless word, but one that everyone knows the meaning – would apply to the 2001 Clos des Papes.
I love Clos des Papes especially 2001…
Is so
This.
Fantastic bottle of wine. I got mine on off the shelf for what, $30? It was good on release and has developed wonderfully but I’d have to say that 2005, 6 and 7 were all better at that stage so… I was not a fan of the 2003. I think I got cooked bottles.
Pretty much the best bottle of wine I drank last year. Just outstanding.
I rarely drink CNDP but this is one of my favorite wines period. Actually ruined me for southern rhone
