- No decant. A good wine for an evening blizzard. Leather, white pepper, menthol and tobacco on the nose - none of the green pepper I often get on Lynch Bages. Still quite tight and young on the palate with persistent but not unpleasant tannins. Leather and black cherry fruit leading to quite a long finish. Went very well with a rich and salty pasta puttanesca. 2001 Bordeaux continues to be a vintage I am glad I went relatively long on.
Thanks for the note Jud. I really like how the vintage has been progressing thus far and love a good Pauillac from this year.
I have also seen some good prices on 01’s lately.
