2001 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (12/18/2009)
WIML88

Tasted December 18, 2009.

Opened and decanted about an hour before serving. Followed over the next two hours. Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking. Nose of licorice, leather, currants, a bit of roasted meat and a little rose petals. Flavors or red berries and red cherries. Medium to high acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Seems a bit austere. Drink over the shorter term? (88 pts.)

I would drink this beginning in 2015.

I just don’t know Drew. Normally I’d agree but based on this bottle…I’m shaking my head.
