TN: 2001 Château Doisy-Védrines Sauternes

2001 Château Doisy-Védrines - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (12/19/2013)
Golden, spicy but still showing some youthful fruit. This is a delicious wine from 375ml right now, though it is in no danger of going downhill any time soon. There’s plenty of stuffing, and the balance is very nice.

I bought those as futures when the vintage came out. Nice wines and one of the better values at the time. Glad to hear that they’re in good shape.

Same here. I bought six halves. Somehow I have already consumed 5 of them.

I have a few 750’s left from a case. Thanks for the note, David!

Cheers and Happy Holidays,
JP

Good juice for sure. I continue to be impressed by the 2001 vintage in Sauternes. I don’t think I’ve had a bad one yet.

A lovely wine. I think I’ve had it twice and I’ve been a fan both times.

David,
I’ve been kinda curious about this for some time now. I read almost all your posts cause you taste interesting stuff.
When you post the same TN on WLDG & WB, you often use different thread titles on the two forums.
Any particular reason for that practice?? Best thing I can tell is that you have to simplify/dumb-down
the title for us WB readers. That it??? [snort.gif]

Tom - I think my fondness for puns/obscure references is more appreciated/tolerated on the WLDG. [wink.gif]
