After a couple of disappointing bottles this week, I was hoping for something nice. I remember someone from NYC (Yaacov maybe?) really liking this one, so when I say it on in the rack I decided to give it a try. Nice match for meatloaf and sweet potatoes.

2000 Quinta do Monte d’Oiro Vinho Regional Estremadura Reserva - Portugal, Estremadura, Vinho Regional Estremadura (1/20/2010)
This was a dead ringer for a good cote rotie. Drinking WAY above expectations. Great acid, nice floral lift on the nose, and some serious deliciousness on the palate - a touch of pepper, bacon, blueberry, raspberry. I wish I had a case, but I’m glad I have 3 more. A real winner from Garagiste.
