TN: 2000 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon

Has anyone tried recently Togni 1990 ? This wine won competition in 90’s in Bruxelles, Belgium against Latour 1990, Mouton 1990, Haut Brion 1990 and Margaux 1990.
I think this won was more significant than Paris tasting 1976 won by Stag’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon.

I hope I never buy into hype enough that I am disappointed by a wine I found outstanding. If I’ve had better examples, then perhaps. But not because I’d heard great things about the vintage.

Yeah, maybe my expectations were too high , I expected one of the best wine experience in my life but wine was “only” very, very good

We opened the 1997 Philip Togni for Thanksgiving. The wine was superb just as Mark noted above. It was still youthful and very much like a cross between a Cali Cab and a Bordeaux. I haven’t had many of the recent releases and I’m curious if they remain in the same style, which I love.
