TN: 2000 Nicolas Potel Charmes-Chambertin

  • 2000 Nicolas Potel Charmes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (6/14/2009)
    Decanted but consumed almost immediately after the decant. This was a wonderful Grand Cru Burgundy. Lots of earth, spice and dark berries on the nose. Very expressive. Smells fantastic and represents everything I am looking for from this type of wine. Medium to full bodied but not overly heavy on the palate. Possesses wonderful balance and length. The finish is quite exceptional. I couldn’t put this down. This is peaking right now and I don’t know if it still has the stuffing to go for another 10 years so pop it now or over the next year or so and enjoy. (93 pts.)

Thanks for the note- has anyone had the 06 of this wine or the Potel Echezeaux? Or does anyone have experience with Potel’s Volnays?

I just bought a 2000 Potel Romanee St Vivant.

In my limited experience, Potel has yet to disappoint me at any price point.
