TN: 2000 La Chablisienne Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles

This is the third bottle of the stash I bought a few years ago…and again, another stellar bottle! My last note is still right on…so I’m using it again. There might be a little more freshness of lime, and more honey to this bottle…an absolute perfect balance to it! I thought the 96pts might be a little too generous…but it really isn’t imo…this is THAT good!

This bottle had no sticky dried wine on the foil, but cork was saturated all the way up. No smell of ox either. SUPER…pristine bottle! Beautiful golden color, with a green hue. Creamy, minerally, and LOADED with seashore goodness! Rich fruit, almond oil, yet lightened with lemon meringue fluffiness. Great white blossom florals, toffee spice…minerals/wet stones/chalky/smoky…it’s all there. Super stuff…especially for the $$$! (96 pts.)

I share your enthusiasm. I drank an '05 young, but my TN was similar to yours:
…this wine was exceptional. Expressive nose and palate. While it presents dense apple and citrus, the essence of this wine is saline and mineral. It evokes a cool sea breeze. Beautiful mouthfeel, ample cut and a long, viscous finish…

Cheers,
Warren

Another little green frog here…….just FANTASTIC! Glad my oldest daughter was born in 2k because I keep picking out winners for here bday! This bottle might be the best one yet……clean and pure, super creamy and balanced, Grand Cru weight. Has the lemon/lime/green apple freshness…salty sea air and crushed minerals….chalky dust and white flower florals….even some Ramonet spearmint in this one! Also reminds me of a Raveneau 1er with its subtleties and bees wax. LOVE IT! 96pts
