TN: 2000 Domaine de Cristia Chateauneuf du Pape Renaissance

From last night with plates of olives, cheeses, and breads.

Decanted one hour. Deep, rich purple in the glass. Nose that speaks of Mouvedre, skunky and dank. Some leathery notes. Palate is layered with dark raspberry and blueberry notes. With air, I get some oak poking about, and the fruit lightens a bit. Nice, long finish that is musky and layered. A nice wine. Didn’t make me do the helicopter [wow.gif] , but a nice wine drinking well now.
