TN: 2000 Chateau Ste Anne Bandol

Closeouts at work always provide interesting drinking if nothing else. Today I picked up a bottle of aged Bandol for $2. What is to lose?

2000 Chateau Ste Anne Bandol - Slightly cloudy purple color with ruby edges. A little lighter in color than I was expecting. Earthy, leathery nose, some blackberry in there, but really more about the earthy elements. It is mid-weight with juicy dark fruits and then a pretty big hit of acid comes in. Would probably do a little better with food, I might just go get some cheese. Overall, not a bad wine for $2. No real complexity, but not bad.
