We opened 2 bottles of this last night for a birthday dinner. It was a beautiful wine from the minute it was decanted. It was a classic example that reminded me why Margaux is special. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the note, Jim. I had this wine at a tasting shortly after release, and quickly tracked down a few cases. I haven’t opened one in a while, and should do so given how well many of the 2000s are drinking now.
Neal, seems like a decent price in today’s market–cheaper than 2005, 2010, and the lowest 2000 on wine-searcher–and it’s ready to drink now, or will hold for some time!
It was widely available for $27 as futures (not first tranche either) and I only bought 3 bottles. Ouch.
Ouch? At least you have 3 bottles. I’ve zero.
It is ready now. It may improve with more time but it’s really good now. In today’s Bordeaux marketplace $69 is not a bad price.
