2000 Château Destieux - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (11/22/2010)
Open 3 hours, not decanted. Subtle mulberries, chocolate, cassis, truffles, and tobacco leaf on the nose. Same flavors on the palate, nice richness, soft velvet texture, has gained a bit of weight since my last bottle drunk 1 & 1/2 years ago, tannins are mostly integrated, pleasant finish. Really nice wine, in it’s prime I’d say. Paid $30 for this, a bargain for that price. Have one bottle left. (92 pts.)
