TN: 2000 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne

Nose: Honey, apple, white flowers and a hint of oak

Palate: Green apples and honey. with well-balanced structure and a bit of minerality.

I was afraid that this might be pre-moxed; however, out of the gate it was showing very nicely. After about 30 minutes or so, oxidation began to appear and the wine went down hill fast. Overall B-, had it not gone downhill, it would have been a B+

Great wine when it’s not premoxed, which is not very often in my experiences.
Have had the 2000 twice. Once brilliant, once premo’d.
Crap shoot. Not great odds. YMMV.

We had a 2005 last night. Hints of oxy were present. BdM has been in my “do not buy category”. IMHO, the product should not have to be consumed prematurely to enjoy out of fear of premox.
