deep ruby for pinot. At first a bit tight. There is Gevrey earth here, rounded out with some wood spice and suppleness. Iron, darker pinot fruit, some spice and earth on the palate. Round, but not supple, and still with quite a bit of structure, albeit not terribly refined. I don’t mean that in a prejorative sense, but there is some grit, that I like. this is showing quite well and is youthful, or at least certainly not at risk of eminent decline. A little green herbal stuff on the back end, with some heme- earth, and decent length. I like this, an enjoyable wine. 89 pts (89 pts.)
