TN: 2 Rieslings (Standing stone, Christoffel) and Sineann

2007 Standing Stone Vineyards (Finger Lakes NY)
$13 Ohio. Golden in color, a bit lighter perhaps. The nose has some mild minerality and a bit of lemons. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is dry. 12.4% Alc. It has a nice minerality but little fruit. Drinks nicely and is probably worth the money but nothing special. 50+4+11+15+6=86

2002 JJ Christoffel Riseling Kabinett Urziger Wurzgarten
Plastic cork. Despite that this was fresh and youthful. Light golden in color. The nose has minerals, and some pineapple. Slightly sweet on the palate. As it got air and warmed, it got more sweeter. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has a nice complexity. Not showing any age. Drinks well. Purchased from PC for $8 a few years ago; now that was a great QPR. 50+4+12+16+6=88

2007 Sineann Caberent Sauvignon Baby Poux
From a 375. Glass stopper. The vineyard is named because it is a younger section of the Champoux Vineyard but these vines must be getting some age on them by now. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has plenty of cedar, also cassis and some leather. An interesting floral note as well. On the palate, this is quite young. Thick tannins. Tons of fruit. It all seems in balance and was quite enjoyable now, but really needs 5 to 7 years in a cellar. This retails for around $42 for a full bottle and it is a steal at that price. 50+4+13+18+8=93

$8 for Christoffel! Very nice QPR indeed. A bunch of newly released 30+ year old Christoffel showed up in Portland last year (or maybe it was the year before) and every bottle I’ve opened has been fresh and delicious.

Nice. I assume those had real corks. The plastic worries me.
