1999 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon - France, Champagne (12/31/2009)
Needs air. Reticent upon opening, gathering heft and grip with air. More vigorous mousse than I expected, but subsiding with time. Nice attack of smoky flint and apple skin, a whisper of tropical nuts and citrus on the midpalate, and a pleasantly bitter minerality on the finish. Restrained, elegant, balanced.

my experience as well with my last bottle… very tight.

costco special, how were the cookies and nuts?

Yeah, we were trying to remember what came with the wine… the pomegranate cashews were astoundingly stale, the texture of caulking compound. I don’t remember the cookies. Still, it was a killer deal.

I do know we’re going to let our remaining bottles sleep for a good long while.
