TN: 1999 J. Confuron-Cotetidot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St. Jacques

  • 1999 J. Confuron-Cotetidot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St. Jacques - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru (3/1/2019)
Popped and poured. Darker ruby. Nose of blue plum, violets, schist, traces of camphor, rock. Sauvage, craggy blue fruit in clear ringing waves on the palate with satin texture and hints of creaminess. Bright acidity and elegant fine-grained tannin leading to a long finish of iodine-driven black raspberry fruit washing over granular stone and rock. A wine of lushness and granite. Superb. (93 pts.)

sounds super.

Alan,

Good experiences with this producer. Vintage doesn’t hurt either!

Cheers,
Doug

Nice note, good to see a 99 drinking well, might have to take a peak at some of mine

Marcus,

I have very few 99s. Thought I’d take a flyer on at this being open and it was.

Cheers,
Doug
