1999 Hoffmann-Simon Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (4/13/2011)
Yellow gold. The nose was shut down a bit. It didn’t yield much, but mainly petrol with some citrus notes. Light to medium bodied. The palate was much more giving than the nose. Lots of Fuji apple, meyer lemon, and late summer peach. High in acidity, this is very refreshing and the mouthfeel just brings a smile to your face. Great length.
This seems to have plenty of life, but the aromatics are a concern. Hopefully just a dumb phase.
