1999 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (8/8/2009)
With dinner at Marzano’s in Oakland. Not quite as good as the bottle opened a month ago or so but also a little more advanced.
Drinking very well, with lush red fruits, vanillan spice, a little provencal herb and a little bit of chocolate. Didn’t seem to have the noticeable tannic grip on the finish the other bottle had…seemed rounder. Just a small notch below the previous bottle. 92+/100. I could still drink this wine all the time if I had more. (92 pts.)
