My last 2 Aussie Shiraz have been real winners, this tonight, and a 2002 Veritas Hanisch in the weekend (no notes taken, but a beautifully dense but old school Barossa Shiraz).

1998 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz Michael - Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra (8/12/2014)
Dark purple color almost opaque at the core to a clear brilliant amethyst rim.
Beautiful and dense nose of lilacs, roses, campfire, black currants, worn saddle leather and smelling salts.
Black and red fruited palate dominated by in season perfectly sweet blackberries. Lovely mouth feel with a weightless body not typical of Aussie Shiraz. Long on the palate with the juice and acid of freshly crushed raspberries lingering on. Tannins are fully resolved, but the balance on this wine suggests it could last. That said it’s drinking beautifully now, and i’d worry a little that the fruit it may become more angular. Enjoy now at it’s peak. (93 pts.)
