1998 Schrader Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Upper Block Gaudeamus Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley (9/14/2009)
This is the third bottle I’ve had of this within a year or so…and they have ALL been amazing to me! Can’t understand the negative comments about this wine??? Still young as ever tasting and feel…dark and wild dried berry fruit, touch of earthy/leathery funk(some might think Brett), wonderful green streaks of bell pepper/wintergreen tobacco/sage/celery stick…powdery dry cocoa beans and dark chocolate. Smooth and spicy…a little dry, but in a way I LOVE in Cabernet. Like cocoa powder. Alive and very tasty young…have no doubts at all this will go a LOT more years. How do you not like this wine??? (95 pts.)
