TN: 1998 Quilceda Creek (briefly)

Birthday dinner at The Schoolhouse at Cannondale in Wilton, CT. Opened at the restauarant, started drinking promptly, finished in an hour or so…

Really jammy blackberry fruit dominates. Nose is more on the leathery side and a little anise. Showing some softness appropriate for the age. But the dominant characteristic are these amazing silky tannins which contribute to a great mouthfeel. Very nice wine - been drinking QC since the 1994 vintage and this may have been my single favorite bottle that I have opened.

I agree Chris, 98 is a great wine that is just starting to come into its own.

Yes I agree, the 1998 is starting to strut.
