    So I put the key in the cork and begin to spin and pull. The cork disintegrates. Half is on the key, half in the bottle. Pour into the decanter, rinse the bottle, grab the funnel and a coffee filter, and slowly pour the wine back into the bottle. Meanwhile, my house begins to smell like smoked black cherries. 30 minutes later, I pour a glass. Great funky Southern Rhone nose, smooth mouthfeel, earthy, dirty. Nice balance. My second good bottle of this. I know others have had problems, and that’s a shame, because this is a nice bottle of wine at a great price.

Day 2: I had left the bottle open and on the counter overnight. This wine held up wonderfully, rich deep cherry flavor, fragrant spices, vibrant acidity. If you get one that has no flaws, open well in advance and you will be rewarded.
