I’d had low expectations for this, given its hard and ungiving youth. But with about 45 minutes of air this turned into an excellent CdP in its secondary life. Ruby red, with secondary aromas of garrigue, earth, maybe tobacco, and animal along with red fruit. Palate showed fruit in balance with earth and mineral elements, as well as some noticeable tannins. Went great with a steak, better with food than without. So if you’re grilling up a slab 'o beef, this is a really good one. This will last for numbers of years if well-cellared. (91 pts.)
