Lots of reductive smells to start. Followed by olives, tar and steel. Really enjoying the aromatics. Nice complexity and fairly animal. Big chocolaty palate. Reminded me more of Youngs Chocolate Stout than wine. The finish goes on long and hot. Still lots of tannin and the acid runs right through it too. As the evening went on the mocha thing gained steam. There was nice complexity but that element became a distraction. I enjoyed the wine but man, talk about a bad qpr. The aromatics help keep me interested but the palate was not really my cup of mocha. (89 pts.)
Cheers,
Jason
