1998 Cantina Vignaioli (Elvio Pertinace) Barbaresco Vigneto Castellizzano - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (4/20/2014)
Dark, medium ruby with garnet rim. Lovely cherry with slight petrol nose. Dry, tart tannins well resolved. Medium fruit on the PnP with drying tannins and just a hint of bitter. This starts out great and restrained, finished with light tannins. Some sharp cheddar works wonders. Not over the hill by any means. It has been consistent over several nights with out any further development so it seems best to drink with out further aging. Definitely best with food. (91 pts.)
