TN: 1997 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côte-Rôtie Les Jumelles

  • 1997 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côte-Rôtie Les Jumelles - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie (7/28/2014)
This had been upright in the cellar for a month or so, and got grabbed for a quick lunch of roast chicken and veg stir fry. Short decant.
Clear and garnet with a touch orange in the glass. Spicy on the nose, with a lovely earthy aroma. Refreshing in the mouth, with good acidity, light smoke, meat, leather, and a hint of chocolate. Well balanced and not heavy.

Thanks for the note, Henry; I had a nice bottle of this about a year ago, and still have another. Try their '97 Hermitage La Chapelle if you have the chance; that’s a wine I’ve liked a great deal each of the few times I’ve had it in the past couple of years…

Hi Frank,

Thanks, and I’d love a 97 La Chapelle!
I have a mag of 99 slumbering - CT has differing opinions on that.
