  • 1997 Louis Jadot Santenay Clos de Malte - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay (11/16/2013)
Visual: Cranberry color, moderate to high transparency. Some lightening of the edge 1/4" or so.

Nose: Sous Bois, forest floor, oyster mushrooms, a bit of tar

Palate: Mature red fruit, forest floor, peat and tar. Well balanced tannins and fruit. In a good place.

Overall: This was a great treat after a day of sporting clays and over a nice dinner at PMC. B+

This wine always seems to perform.

Just curious, what are sporting clays?

Skeet shooting?

Sporting Clays, like skeet, only they come at you from various angles and you have multiple stations.

Can they shoot at you too? It seems more sporting.

They are clay targets only.

Just had a bottle of the 1997 Jadot Bonnes Mares a couple of nights ago off a restaurant list. Excellent mature Burgundy.
