Inspired by David Bs notes on the '99 and '02 from a few days back.
Grabbed this for football watching along with some other assorted bottles.
1997 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot- France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru (1/25/2016)
The leathery, earthy, slight funkiness of aged Burgundy on the nose really sings. The nose is the star. Palate is round and resolved, but tasty with soft, dark-ish fruit. Plum? Not terribly complex, no fireworks, but a sound '97 that drinks well now and was quite enjoyable.
