    I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux, but after a big Bordeaux night, I’m going to have to start again.
    This was an excellent bottle of Pomerol and shocking that this was made in the 1997 vintage. Has great vibrancy, showing the earthy version of merlot that makes Pomerol just great. Just shows how producer can beat vineyard or vintage. Drink now or hold for a decade or more. (94 pts.)

Yep, I think the same here. The '97 vintage was on hard closeout around here in the early '00s…

Really a great bottle to bring to a Bordeaux tasting. On the one hand, it’s Lafleur so everyone impressed. On the other hand, it’s '97 so no one thinks it will be good. A real shocker!
